Meet Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center's Patient Advocate, Gladys Martinez

Gladys makes it easier for patients to obtain the benefits, entitlements and insurance (e.g., Medicare, state administered healthcare programs such as Medicaid (Title 19), SAGA, HUSKY, the CS-HHC Sliding Fee Scale and the CS-HHC Pharmacy Fund) that will maximize their access to care. She helps patients get appointments, and for patients whom Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center is unable to serve, she assists them in obtaining referrals to other providers. Gladys is bilingual (Spanish and English) and she assists providers whose patients who are not fluent in English.

Gladys helps Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center patients understand their rights and responsibilities. She works directly with patients and staff to resolve complaints.
