WIC Program

The Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center WIC Program was the first WIC Program in Connecticut and one of the first in the nation. WIC provides healthy food information and nutrition education to pregnant women, post-partum women, infants and children living in the Greater New Haven area, Milford and West Haven. To enroll in the WIC program you must be income eligible and/or have a nutritional and/or medical risk. The WIC staff at Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center is specially trained to help mothers and children stay healthy and eat nutritional meals. WIC also has a nutritionist which specialize in lactation/breastfeeding techniques and education. WIC refers clients to other programs as needed such as Husky, Food Stamps, Social Services, etc.

It's a simple process; feel free to call either of the above numbers for more information. Once you are on WIC, you will receive special WIC checks. These checks can be used at food stores in your area and any WIC approved stores in Connecticut. You may also receive Farmers Market Coupons that can be used at authorized Farmers Markets in the state.

Nutrition Experts

WIC also provides information on lactation and healthy eating for women, infants, and children. The nutrition information as well as counseling is provided from qualified nutrition professionals. Our WIC Nutritionists are experts in the field of nutrition and are prepared to guide you.
