Located at 226 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven, the Neighborhood Employee Support Services (formerly called the Employee Assistance Program) aims to assist residents of the Empowerment Zones (EZ) in New Haven to remain employed. The EZ neighborhoods are Hill, Dwight, Dixwell, Newhallville, Fair Haven and West Rock.

Neighborhood Employee Support Services seeks to give qualified EZ residents critical support and resources to identify and manage barriers to their sustaining employment, to prevent loss of employment and time from work, and connect them with community services and resources.

Barriers to employment include, but are not limited to the following: work-related issues: health, marital, domestic violence, family, child and elder-care, transportation, financial, substance abuse, emotional, stress, sexual abuse, or other personal issues.

The Neighborhood Employee Support Services staff will assess the resident’s employment barriers and develop a solution-based plan. Other Neighborhood Employee Support Services staff are Case Managers Terrie Allen and Tasha Peters.
